Boris Wala is a pianist, piano teacher, and accompanist hailing from Edmonton, Alberta. Boris holds a degree in music from the University of Alberta where he studied in the piano classes of Patricia Tao and Viktoria Reiswich-Dapp. Boris has a deep passion for chamber music and collaboration, which have been fostered by mentors including violinist Guillaume Tardiff and collaborative pianist Shannon Hiebert. Outside of university, Boris continues his studies privately with Dessislava Gavrailova. Boris enjoys teaching piano to students of all ages out of his private studio. As a pianist, Boris has performed in recitals and masterclasses in both a solo and collaborative setting. He enjoys travelling, summertime bike rides, and old movies. Boris recently took part in NUOVA Vocal Arts’ Collaborative Piano Program where he worked on Jonathan Dove’s opera Mansfield Park.
