Boris Wala is a pianist, piano teacher, and accompanist hailing from Edmonton, Alberta. Boris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Alberta, where he studied in the piano studios of Patricia Tao and Viktoria Reiswich-Dapp. Here, Boris developed a passion for chamber music and collaboration, with teachers including violinist Guillaume Tardiff, cellist Rafael Hoekman, and collaborative pianist Shannon Hiebert.

Boris is continuing his education at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with a Master of Arts in Vocal Chamber Music and Accompaniment. Here, he studies accompaniment with Helin Kapten, piano with Marko Martin, and chamber music with Natalia Sakkos and Maksim Štšura. 

As a pianist, Boris has performed in recitals and masterclasses in both a solo and collaborative setting.

Recent productions as rehearsal/assistant pianist include Mansfield Park with NUOVA Vocal Arts in 2023, under the direction of Brian Deedrick and music direction of Kinza Tyrrell, as well as Suor Angelica at La Musica Lirica in 2024, under the direction of Robert Breault and music direction of Sara Chiesa.
